Polar Kids (Ages 4-8)

21/22 Season PROGRAMS

An ideal learning environment for
teaching our youngest skiers and riders.

Choose a 90-minute Lesson Session from our schedule:

SESSION A Weekends/Holidays Only
8:00 - 9:30am
SESSION B  
10am - 11:30am
SESSION C  
1 - 2:30pm

Polar Kids Check In:

Please arrive at least 45 minutes prior to your child's lesson time
Two Sessions may be booked for same day. A and B Only. Parents will need to pick up child in between session for bathroom/snack break.
Lunch will not be offered for the 21/22 season.
RENTALS:
Rental equipment available for $22.
Please measure your childs foot as best as possible. It's important that the boot fits comfortably on your child.

Multiple sessions are by day and can't be split.

INFORMATION

Our specially-trained instructors will make sure your children not only learn, but have fun too! Our kid-friendly teaching areas feature the Polar Playground, Ollie's and Easy Rider carpet lifts. Skiers and snowboarders will be placed in groups of like age and ability.

POLAR KIDS REQUIREMENTS

Help us make your child's visit a success!
Basic Requirements
  • Be sure to select the correct level for your child. Not doing so may result in loss of lesson.
  • Minimum age to participate in the Polar Kids program is 4 years old.
  • The Child must be able to follow verbal guidance and pay attention to physical demonstrations to learn a task.
  • Before learning to ski your child must learn the following;
  • Gliding on Snow
  • Duck Walking and Side Stepping
  • Getting up from the ground
  • The Child must be physically capable of removing their skis/board and putting the equipment on without assistance.
  • Children must arrive dressed and ready for snow.
  • Parents are responsible for picking up rental equipment and getting children set up with boots, helmets and goggles/sunglasses.








COVID Updates:
  • The Child must be able to independently adjust their clothes without assistance from the instructor.
  • Must be able to use the bathroom independently.
  • Children must be able to load carpet and chair lifts independently. Due to chair lift capacity limits, Children must be able to ride chair without an instructor.
  • No indooor space available for Polar Kids
  • Masks are required by all participants





 

What does my child need to have a great day?

Waterproof gloves

Non-cotton over the calf socks (don't use two pairs of socks)

Sunglasses or goggles

Neck warmer or scarf

Sunscreen is recommended

Helmets are required and provided with rentals

No hats - or other loose items that are easily lost

POLAR KIDS

Polar Kids will start taking reservations in November

WHICH LEVEL IS RIGHT FOR MY CHILD?

BEGINNER

(first time)
Level 0: Has never skied or boarded.
Level 1: Has tried skiing or riding but is not turning or stopping consistently.

NOVICE

Level 2: Starting to link turns in both directions and stopping on their own.
Level 3: Riding the chairlift and able to ski down in control, linking turns in both directions and exhibiting good stopping skills.
Level 4: Is starting to ski and board faster, using good turning and stopping skills. Can use our Monadnock chairlift.

INTERMEDIATE

Level 5: Starting to use our blue square trails. Can use our Minuteman chairlift and trails.
Level 6: Rhythm, good timing and body movements to carve turns.
Level 7: Terrain use is more varied. Skiers' skis are parallel. Boarders are confident and comfortable.

ADVANCED

Level 8: Turns are strong, precise and carved. Skis and rides our black diamond trails while maintaining control and speed.
Level 9: This person is comfortable in bumps, powder, hard snow and steep terrain. Turns can be carved in all conditions.

RESERVATION & CANCELLATION POLICY

Due to our limited capacity, reservations are charged when booked and non-refundable. If you cancel a minimum of 24 hours (1 day) prior to your reserved date you may reschedule to a future date within the current season, lessons cannot be carried over to the following season. $18 clerical fee applies to changes made in reservations. Less than 24 hours notice will result in forfeiture of lesson.

NOTES
  • Online reservations required. Walk-ins cannot be accomodated for the 21/22 Season
  • A lift ticket is included for the duration of the lesson only
  • To maintain the health of our other guests and staff, we will not accept any children in the children's programs if they are showing any symptoms of the flu or sickness.
